BMI Healthcare’s Albyn Hospital is a fantastic place to work. Located in the west end of Aberdeen it is the only independent hospital serving Grampian and the North of Scotland. BMI Albyn provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and day-case specialties including orthopaedic, cardiology, cosmetic surgery, general surgery and urology. Facilities on-site include 27 beds, three operating theatres, outpatient consulting rooms, Imaging and physiotherapy departments. We are currently recruiting for an experienced and committed Senior Theatre Practitioner or Senior ODP to join our fantastic team of staff in our Operating Theatre department.
The successful candidate will put patient care at the heart of everything they do. As a qualified practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration you will use your skills and knowledge to work well within a team, adopting a flexible and collaborative approach at all times. Whether your background is in Scrub, Anaesthetics and/or Recovery you will be keen to learn and develop new skills to further grow your career.
We are looking for a candidate who shares BMI’s belief in providing the highest standards of perioperative care for patients to join the team.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Lead and work alongside multi-disciplinary team to provide safe and high quality care provision for patients and their family, visitors and carers
- Support colleagues and Lead Theatre Practitioners to help promote good team morale, leading by example with one’s own professional behaviour.
- Acting as a role model and mentor to develop junior staff
- Desired Skills and Experience:-
- Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience within a high acuity specialty.
- Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations
- Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment.
- Previous experiencing managing and leading a clinical team.

This is a full time post and there is a flexible shift pattern in place. We will also consider applications from candidates wishing part time work and endeavour to offer flexibility with hours wherever possible.
