Registrants must keep a continuous personal profile of learning activities and they must demonstrate a mix of learning styles and keep a reflective account of how this has impacted on their continuous learning. 2.5% will be selected each year in the audit to review their CPD portfolio. To maintain registration with the NMC, you need to declare you have completed:
- 450 hours of registered practice in the previous three years and
- 35 hours of learning activity (CPD) in the previous three years.
The practice standard can be met through administrative, supervisory, teaching, research and managerial roles as well as providing direct patient care. A continuous portfolio of development must be kept and this must include reflective accounts. NMC website.
