CPD & You

Being able to prove that you are up-to-date with all the latest in clinical regulations, procedures and medical devices is shown to influence an employer’s choice during the interview process.  Whilst in employment it increases your chances for role promotion and extension and in uncertain times such as these with budget cuts and job losses, it may mean the difference between you keeping your job over a colleague.  It is also a legal requirement that you must comply with in order to be registered.

CPD Profile

A shorter version of your CPD portfolio highlighting key areas of recent learning/knowledge to demonstrate your competence if audited and to reinforce your CV during interviews.

CPD Portfolio

Your full record of Continuing Professional Development containing all certificates, reflective templates, work history and education details.  You should regularly ‘spring clean’ your portfolio to ensure it is up-to-date and relevant; it really only needs to contain the last 5-7 years of information unless there a particular skill/experience you want to keep to demonstrate competence in that area.

Your CPD profile is an essential tool that if accurately maintained will help you show your current employer how you have met competencies and reinforce your skills demonstrated on your cv to future employers.  It should accompany you to any in house appraisal or external job interview.
